# Setup checklist

> Get your help desk ready for its first ticket.

**1. Set your branding**

Add your name, color, and logo. See [Branding](https://desk.quibtech.com/docs/admin/branding.md).

**2. Connect outbound email**

Connect your mail server and send a test. See [Outbound email](https://desk.quibtech.com/docs/admin/notifications/outbound-email.md).

**3. Add clients and locations**

Add the organizations you support and their locations. See [Clients](https://desk.quibtech.com/docs/admin/clients.md) and [Locations](https://desk.quibtech.com/docs/admin/locations.md).

**4. Set up ticket categories**

Add the categories people choose from. See [Categories](https://desk.quibtech.com/docs/admin/tickets/categories.md).

**5. Add your team**

Add your staff and other admins. See [Add people](https://desk.quibtech.com/docs/admin/people/add-people.md).

**6. Choose who gets notified**

Choose who receives email and push for each event. See [Who gets notified](https://desk.quibtech.com/docs/admin/notifications/who-gets-notified.md).

**7. Set up SLAs (optional)**

Set targets and business hours. See [Set up SLAs](https://desk.quibtech.com/docs/admin/slas/set-up.md).

**8. Turn on inbound email (optional)**

Open tickets from email. See [Inbound email](https://desk.quibtech.com/docs/admin/notifications/inbound-email.md).

**9. Raise a test ticket**

Raise a ticket as a client, then reply as staff.
