Users and Branding, reworked
  • Settings → Users groups people by client, with your team first. Search by name or email, and show only people who never signed in or are deactivated.
  • Settings → Branding shows a preview of the app and sign-in screen, in light and dark, as you type. Logo and favicon URLs show the image they load, or that it didn’t load.
  • With no logo set, the sidebar and top bar show only the organization name.

Better on your phone
  • On a phone, desk offers to install itself as an app, so you can open it from your Home Screen.
  • The first time you open the installed app, it offers to turn on notifications for your tickets.
  • The bar at the top of the screen now stays in place when you scroll past the top or bottom of a page.
  • The app shows its icon while it starts, instead of a blank screen.
October 15, 2026
Plainer wording
  • Settings hints, Email activity warnings, the update banner, and ticket hints are shorter.
  • Ticket, account, invitation, and password reset emails are shorter.

  • Send a test sits under the device switch in Settings → Account.
October 13, 2026
Push notifications, and an installable app
  • Receive notifications on phones and computers. Admins turn them on in Settings → Notifications → Push notifications. Each person then turns them on for each device in Settings → Account.
  • Install the help desk as an app. iPhone and iPad need it on the Home Screen for notifications.
  • A notification names the ticket and who acted, never what anyone wrote.
  • Settings → Email is now Settings → Notifications.

Choose who gets notified
  • Notifications are a grid of ticket events against who can be notified: Requester, Client-wide, Assignee, Staff, and Admins.
  • SLA at-risk and missed reminders are set in the grid.
  • A reply from someone other than the requester or staff emails the requester. Turn this off in the grid.
  • Client-wide accounts can be emailed about their client’s tickets. This is off by default.

Smoother everywhere
  • Pages, menus and cards now slide and fade into place instead of jumping, so moving around desk feels smoother.
  • “Loading…” no longer flashes up for a split second on pages that load quickly.
  • On a phone, Details on a ticket slides up from the bottom of the screen and back down when you close it.

Let someone see all of their client’s tickets
  • A client account can now see and reply on every ticket for its client, not only its own. Turn it on with All client tickets, under the person’s client in Settings → Users.
  • People with it on get a Mine / Everyone switch at the top of their ticket list. Everyone shows who raised each ticket.

SLAs, and internal tickets for staff work
  • Tickets can have SLA targets for a first response and for resolution, set by priority and counted in business hours. An administrator sets them up in Settings → SLAs, and they are off until then.
  • The ticket list shows each ticket’s nearest SLA deadline, such as “Due in 2h” or “Overdue”, and “SLA met” or “SLA missed” once it is resolved. Filter to tickets at risk or overdue, or sort by the deadline due soonest.
  • An SLA card on each ticket shows both deadlines, and whether each is on track, at risk, paused or missed. The assignee is emailed when a ticket is at risk and again if it misses a target.
  • Internal tickets are for staff’s own work. Tick Internal on New ticket, or open the new Internal queue in the sidebar. Only staff and administrators can see them, and nobody is emailed about them.

A ticket page built for long conversations
  • On a computer, a ticket’s conversation now scrolls in its own column and opens at the newest message. The details beside it scroll separately.
  • The reply box stays at the bottom of the conversation as a single line. Click it to open the full editor; Esc closes it and keeps your draft, and Ctrl+Enter (⌘+Enter on a Mac) sends.
  • The editor has buttons for bold, italic, code, links, lists, quotes and code blocks, with Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I, Ctrl+E and Ctrl+K as shortcuts. “Markdown is supported” now opens a short reference.
  • In a list, Enter starts the next item for you. Enter on an empty item ends the list.

In progress, and invitations that expire
  • Tickets have a new status, In progress, for work staff have started. Set it from the Status menu on a ticket; nothing sets it automatically.
  • Settings → Email → Notifications can email the requester when their ticket is set to In progress. The switch is off by default.
  • When someone first signs in from an invitation, they get a welcome email and the person who invited them is told.
  • An invitation left unused for 14 days now deactivates the account and emails the person and whoever invited them. Resend invitation in Settings → Users sends a new link and reactivates it.

Time logging on tickets
  • Log time spent on a ticket with the Time spent field under the reply box. It is saved with that reply or internal note.
  • The new Time card in a ticket’s sidebar lists every entry under the ticket’s total. Hover over the total to see each person’s share.
  • Use Log time on the Time card for time with nothing to write, such as an on-site visit. Entries can be dated earlier than today.
  • Time is visible to staff and administrators only. Requesters never see it, including time logged with a public reply, and it is never included in emails.
